We also were able to find great homes for a lab puppy and a sheltie.

This years pond tour will have a twist to it.  

We are working with the humane society on displaying pets for adoption either by a photo of each pet or the possibility of having the pet at ponders homes during the pond tour. 

The mission of the Rock Springs Humane Society is to provide a safe and healthy enviroment for homeless animals while promoting adoption into caring homes, as well as community education conconcerning the importance of sterilization, vaccination, and proper pet care.

The Humane Society is a non-profit charitable organization that exists soley on donations.  We receive no local, state , or federal funding.  As a relatively new Sweetwater County resident I am touched by the out pouring of generosity by resident from all walks of life.  I am humbled by and grateful for each donation!

The shelter is currently home to dogs, cats, and rabbits.  Each pet at the shelter is just that... a pet that enjoys human companionship and creaves it.  As a result of circumstance these furry creatures find themselves without a home and it's our job at the Humane Society to care for them until we find the right family.

Volunteers are the lifeblood of the shelter and give love and attention to the pets that we in the office don't always have time to do as part of our regular day.  We have volunteers that take dogs for walks or spend time with the cats in the Cat Playroom.  It is crucial to me that these pets all get some one-on-one time.  I want them to be happy and loved while they're at the Humane Society, and for that to carry over into their new homes.

We do not euthanize animals if they're not adopted quickly.  They stay with us as long as they need to until we find their person or family.
